Dice Box
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the dice app “Dice Box” (the “App”) provided by Hiroaki Arimura, doing business as Defacto (“we,” “us”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1Scope
These Terms apply to both the iPhone/iPad and Android versions. How we handle information is described in the Privacy Policy.
For the iOS version, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s standard EULA, the standard EULA prevails for the iOS version. For the Android version, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
2The App
The App lets you roll dice on screen. Core features are free. The free version shows ads. Purchasing the paid “Pro” removes ads and unlocks additional features, which are listed on the purchase screen in the App.
The “Dice” tab has no usage limits, even in the free version. In the free version, the “Games” tab can be played once per day, and one play lasts 3 hours from when it starts. Watching a rewarded ad adds one play, up to 3 ads per day. Purchasing Pro removes this limit.
Other companies’ names
Names of other companies’ games that may appear in the App or its store listing are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. The App is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies. The App does not contain text or artwork from any commercial rulebook.
We may add, change or discontinue features without prior notice.
3Purchasing Pro
Pro is available in two ways. Prices are shown on the store’s purchase screen before you buy and include applicable taxes.
- Auto-renewable subscription: weekly, monthly and yearly plans.
- One-time purchase (lifetime): you pay once. There are no renewals or further charges.
Auto-renewable subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel. On iOS, the subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- On Android, you can cancel at any time in Google Play. After you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If prices change, we will notify you in accordance with each store’s rules.
Free trial of the yearly plan
- New subscribers to the yearly plan get the first week free. The store decides who is eligible. If you have used a free trial or subscription for the App before, you may not be eligible.
- When the free trial ends, the yearly price is charged and the yearly plan begins. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged. How long Pro remains available after cancelling follows each store’s rules.
4How to cancel
Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. Cancel as follows:
iPhone/iPad
Settings > your name (Apple Account) at the top > Subscriptions > Dice Box > Cancel Subscription
See Apple’s guide Cancel a subscription from Apple.
Android
Google Play app > profile icon (top right) > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Dice Box > Cancel subscription
See Google’s guide Cancel, pause or change a subscription on Google Play.
5Refunds
Payments are processed by Apple or Google, so we cannot issue refunds directly. Please request a refund from the store under its policy:
- iPhone/iPad: Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple
- Android: Google Play refund policies
6Restoring purchases
If you change devices or reinstall the App, use “Restore Purchases” in the App while signed in with the same Apple Account or Google Account you used to buy. See Support for steps.
7License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to use the App. All rights in the App’s software, design, images and sounds belong to us or their rightful owners.
8Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Violate any law or public order
- Use the App for gambling or any other activity prohibited by law
- Decompile, disassemble or modify the App, except as permitted by law
- Circumvent or manipulate the purchase or advertising systems
- Copy, distribute or sell the App or any part of it without permission
- Infringe the rights of us or others, or interfere with the operation of the App
9About dice results
Dice results are determined using your device’s random number generator. We do not guarantee any particular result or fitness for any particular purpose. Do not use the App where fairness must be certified, such as in tournaments or when money is at stake.
10Disclaimer and limitation of liability
- The App is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it is free of defects, works on every device, or will be available without interruption.
- History, favorites and settings stored on your device may be lost, for example if your device fails or you delete the App. We cannot recover lost information.
- We are not responsible for the content of ads shown in the App or for sites or apps reached through them.
- Except in cases of our intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from your use of the App. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the cause of the damage arose.
- If applicable law, such as consumer protection law, makes any of the above invalid, that law applies.
11Ending the service
We may stop providing the App. When we do, we will try to give notice in advance in the App or on this site. Subscriptions will be handled under each store’s rules.
12Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms when needed. We will announce important changes on this page or in the App. If you use the App after a change, you agree to the updated Terms.
13Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute between you and us about the App or these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over our place of residence as the court of first instance.
